2021-2022 FLU VACCINE SCHEDULE

November 2021
Austin: Monday afternoons 12 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Leander: Tuesday afternoons 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Cedar Park: Friday afternoons 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Austin Saturday Clinics: 11/6, 11/13, 11/20  – 8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Due to COVID-19 and in order to keep our parents, patients and staff as safe as possible, we will be doing flu shot clinics at each office at specific times during the weekdays. This will allow families to follow social distancing guidelines and not interact with scheduled appointments during the weekday hours at each office.

We ask that everyone age 2 and above please wear a mask when entering the office for the flu shot clinic. If anyone is running fever or has COVID-19 symptoms in the immediate family or friend contact circle, please do not come into the office and call to reschedule your flu shot appointment.

We will file flu shots for patients and parents to your insurance company, so that the whole family can book an appointment and come in all at once to get vaccinated! We now have our schedules open to book appointments for the dates listed below for nurse visit flu shots. Please call the office to book your appointment! Appointments are necessary. We cannot do walk in appointments at this time. If you have a well check appointment scheduled for your child, we will administer your flu shot at the scheduled well check appointment. If you would like parents and siblings to attend the well check visit to receive their flu shot, please let the receptionist know when they call to confirm your appointment 1-2 days prio

FAQs: Flu shot appointments for the 2021-2022 flu season

Yes, all office locations require an appointment to be booked. This year, due to COVID-19, we are trying to keep parents, patients, and staff as safe as possible and be socially distant between families entering and exiting the offices.

If your child already has a well check appointment scheduled for the Fall, you do not need to book a nurse visit flu shot clinic appointment. Each office will administer flu shots during the well check appointment to the patient, any siblings, or parents. Just let the office staff know you would like to add siblings and parents to the visit when you are doing your verbal confirmation and screening phone call 1-2 days prior to the well check appointment. We do recommend children get a flu shot by the end of October!

Please let the office scheduling staff know when booking your appointment, as egg allergy patients need to be monitored after receiving the flu shot, so those patients will be scheduled at a different time.

At this time, we will be doing flu shots inside the offices, alternating exam rooms so that families do not go into the same exam rooms right after another family and we will never use sick visit exam rooms for flu shot patients. Our Austin office has a temporary flu shot clinic area in the waiting room, the Cedar Park office has an exam room for nurse visits only, and the Leander office also has exam rooms on the well side for nurse visits only. If you do not feel comfortable bringing your family inside the office, we still want you to get your flu shot, please ask the office staff and ask for your provider to make other arrangements and we can accommodate and outdoor/walk up flu shot appointment if needed.

  • 6 months and older
  • Ages 2 and above must wear a mask when entering the office and keep mask on during visit.
  • You cannot receive a flu shot if you are running fever, DO NOT COME into the office at all if you or your immediate family is running fever, please call to reschedule the appointment.

We will file insurance for parents and patients, self-pay/underinsured flu shots are $30.00 until offices receive their TVFC flu vaccine stock, which then self-pay patients would be $14.85.

Our EMR system will send out an automated message 5 days prior to your appointment, either voice phone call, text message, or portal message depending on how the parent has set up their confirmation reminder options.

If your child has never received the flu shot before, is 6 months to 8 years old, then they do require 2 doses to be given at least 30 days apart during the flu season.

Yes! If there is no active fever and past the 10-day isolation timeline, please get immunized for influenza this season! If you have further clinical questions, call the office and leave a message for your provider to go over the information with you.

Please know that this flu season is different than most with the COVID-19 pandemic and North Austin Pediatrics is trying our best to keep families and our staff safe! We have weekly clinics at each location and will accommodate your needs as best as possible. If the clinics in all 3 office locations are already booked for this week, we will offer the following weeks we have open.
